We finally got C to the beach. One that you can easily walk from the sand to the water. At Grandma A. house you have to walk down the stairs and jump into the water from the dock and there’s no sandy area to play at. And the beach at Grandma’s lake has a sea wall up so you have to walk down 2 metal steps to get to the water so we’ve been searching for an area lake where there’s a nice beach area and C can just meandor out into the water at his own pace. I’ve tried to get into the water at Grandma’s and carry him into the water, but he wasn’t too thrilled about it. Anyway, we finally made it to Portage Lake. When we got there we threw down a blanket, got some sand toys out, took C’s sandals off, and he REFUSED to touch the sand with his feet. It was funny because I tried to put him down and the closer he got to the sand the farther up in the air his feet went. So, I put him on the blanket and he proceeded to play in the sand at the edge of the blanket, but he would not touch the sand with his hands for feet. Finally I decided that maybe if I got a bucket of water and brought it up to the sand where he was playing it would coax him into the sand to get more water….it worked.

From that moment on we played in the sand and water, never making it back to the blanket until it was time to go.

I think he really enjoyed himself since he was not happy when it was time to go home. But, we weren’t a mile down the road and I turned around and saw this…..

Poor guy was tuckered out after all that sand and water. It was a great day spent with my boys!!
